How to Finish The Choir
Complete The Choir by following the prison journals to the chapel, collecting the deceased-prisoners letter, and posting it on the noticeboard beside the Lantern after escaping the sewers. Finishing the quest awards Remnant’s Return and 6,000 Catalysts.
Start During the Jail Escape
The Choir starts in the temporary jail section during Chapter 10: Shackled. Its starting landmark is a room containing a horn along the escape route. Complete the prison interactions before leaving the jail, because you cannot return to that area afterward.
You can begin the quest while unarmed. If reaching the early interactions proves difficult, recover your equipment and return to them while you are still inside the jail. The Armoury Key retrieves your equipment, while the Key to the Chapel opens the room containing the letter you need.
Quest Spoilers: The Choir Walkthrough
- Collect “Prison Warden’s Journal – Part One” from the desk in the room with the horn. Look for this room on your left as you follow the linear jail escape route. Picking up the journal starts The Choir.
- Inspect the door at the end of the long hallway upstairs. Your landmark is the larger room with patrolling soldiers and rafters you can jump into. Remember this door’s position, because you will return to the chapel after collecting its key.
- Pick up the Armoury Key from the kitchen table. To reach it, follow the upper-floor rafters toward the center of the room, then drop into the kitchen area below. This key gives you access to the lower-floor room containing your equipment.
- Collect “Prison Warden’s Journal – Part Two” from the table in the small room beside the Armoury Key pickup. Check this neighboring room while you are near the kitchen so you have the journal before continuing toward the chapel key.
- Use the Armoury Key on the lower-floor equipment-room door if you want your weapons back before continuing the investigation. Recovering your equipment lets you revisit the early quest interactions armed if the patrols made those encounters difficult.
- Take the Key to the Chapel from the table in the side room containing a memory. Look on the opposite side of the upper floor from the Armoury Key area. This is the key needed for your return to the chapel door.
- Unlock the chapel door you inspected earlier by interacting with it while carrying the Key to the Chapel. This return visit opens the chapel interior and gives you access to the counter behind the bodies.
- Pick up “Letter to Headquarters – A List of Deceased Prisoners” from the counter behind the bodies inside the chapel. This is the document you must carry out of the jail and place on the city noticeboard.
- Follow the escape route through the sewer until you emerge back in the city. Your next destination is the board directly beside the Lantern outside. Keep the letter delivery in mind as you reach this point.
- Place the letter on the board beside the Lantern by interacting with it. This completes The Choir and awards Remnant’s Return and 6,000 Catalysts. Collecting the chapel letter alone does not finish the quest; the noticeboard delivery is the final action.
Patrols, Locked Doors and Missing Rewards
If patrols keep stopping your investigation, you can postpone the early quest interactions until after recovering your weapons. Death in this section sends you back to the cell. Use the Armoury Key route to retrieve your equipment before trying those interactions again.
If the chapel remains locked, look for the Key to the Chapel on the table in the upper-floor room containing a memory. The Armoury Key opens the equipment room downstairs. After finding the chapel key, return to the hallway door and interact with it.
If you collected the letter but have not received the reward, finish the delivery at the board beside the Lantern after the sewer exit. If you left the jail without collecting the letter, the prison area cannot be revisited. Check the chapel counter before committing to the escape.
Rewards and Achievement Requirements
The completion reward is Remnant’s Return and 6,000 Catalysts. Remnant’s Return lets you recover Catalysts lost upon death without traveling back to where you dropped them. Save it for a recovery trip you would prefer to avoid.
The Choir is optional and is not required for any trophy or achievement. You can focus on escaping if achievements are your priority. To complete the quest itself, collect the chapel letter during your prison visit and finish its delivery when you reach the city Lantern.
