Where to Improve Your Ferrofluid Flask

Improve the Ferrofluid Flask at a Lantern: apply Power Upgrades for stronger healing per use and Empty Ferrofluid Flasks for more uses between rests. Find the materials in chests, buy stock from Louis at the Abandoned Church, or earn upgrades through The Curious Case of Seamus Diggory and The Oathbound.

If each drink leaves too much Health missing, look for power. If you keep running out before your next rest, prioritize quantity.

02

Apply the Materials at a Lantern

  1. Interact with a Lantern and apply your collected Power Upgrades or Empty Ferrofluid Flasks to improve the matching part of your healing supply.
  2. Keep collecting Power Upgrade materials as you explore. Later power improvements require more material for each upgrade.

Which Routes Need Later Abilities?

  1. Return to Quarry with the grapple for its upper chest. The Marketplace Empty Flask also requires grappling across the water and plague pillars.
  2. Obtain Stasis at Weeping Ledge during Dark Descent, then use it for the moving-platform Power Upgrade and spinning-platform Empty Flask in Old Mine.
  3. After obtaining Shield, return through the University’s poison hallway for the lower-library statue chest. Shield also opens Adrien Cassell’s Oathbound route from Shamble Street.
  4. Revisit the Fallen Village Oathbound route with the grapple and Nephtoglobin formations. Collect the remaining emblems, then open the marked chamber at Fortress > Courtyard for its Empty Flask.

Missed Ferrofluid upgrades remain available after the story, so you can leave blocked routes and return with the abilities they need.
